Onboarding
Every new project starts with the onboarding process. When you open a project that has no slots yet, Olivia shows the onboarding page instead of the dashboard. There are two paths depending on the type of project.
Demo Project: Quick Start
If you are in a demo project (your personal project), you have two options:
1. Create a Full Demo Study
Click "Create Full Demo Study" to instantly generate a realistic car clinic study with a single click. This creates:
- 3 modes: Quant (90 min), Focus Group (120 min), Interview (60 min)
- 5 products: Classic cars (Audi Sport quattro S1, Porsche 911, BMW Z8, McLaren F1, Ferrari F40)
- 50 slots: A mix of past, upcoming, and future appointments with realistic statuses — including late arrivals, checked-in respondents, and open slots
- 4 questions: With predefined answers and short versions for invitation placeholders
- A PDF invitation template: Fully configured with placeholders and QR code support
This is the fastest way to explore Olivia's features. You can delete the demo data at any time and start fresh.
2. Manual Setup
Follow the three-step wizard (same as for real projects — see below). Demo projects are limited to 5 slots.
Real Projects: Manual Setup
For non-demo projects, you will see a three-step setup wizard:
Step 1: Create Modes
Modes define the types of evaluations in your project (e.g. "Interview", "Focus Group"). Each mode has a duration.
Click "Create Modes" to go to the modes page and add your first mode.
Step 2: Create Products
Products are the items your respondents will evaluate. Each product is linked to one or more modes with quota targets.
Click "Create Products" to go to the products page and add your products.
Step 3: Create Slots
Slots are the individual time slots that recruiters will book respondents into. Each slot has a date, time, mode, and product.
Click "Create Slots" to go to the slots page and create your appointment schedule.
Once you have created at least one slot, the onboarding is complete and you will see the dashboard when you open the project.
Deleting Demo Data
If you used the quick-start option and want to start over, you can delete all demo data from the onboarding page. This removes all modes, products, slots, questions, answers, and invitations — giving you a clean slate.
